And we're off!!

Mood: Optomistic?

The first week of Uni is over and, well I was going to start on one of the assignments today, I really was...........but it didn't happen. Oh well, maybe tomorrow (in between housework that is).

But I am not happy that I am going to be 'forced' to download SP2 for Windows - clicky. It has been suggested to me to back-up my files, re-install windows, then install SP2, then re-install any previous programs I still wish to use. What a headache!! I don't have time for that right now (with Uni and all).

Yippee - 9 weeks of Lectures, Tutorials, Practicals and Assignments to go before my final 6 weeks placement. I'm not counting - not much :P

I don't have anything else usefull to write, so that is it for now from me.

Why do I procrastinate?

Mood:
Exasperated with self!

A few posts ago, I mentioned trying to get motivated.......well, I am still trying, but I have at least started printing off all of the readings that are required for my subjects this semester at University. But, in true procrastinator fashion, I have waited until Orientation week to start doing so. Orientation week is the first week for 1st years, but for myself, it is one week before official lectures, tutorials and practicals start. So I have really waited until the last minute to start getting organised.

I have also bought a USB Flash Drive - woohoo!! That is because our university gives us a measly 10MB of disk space to save our work on at Uni (that we can then access from home too). To save me constantly using that 10MB up, I have bought a 512MB USB Flash Drive to save my work from Uni and bring it home and vice versa. This is the first year they have been equipped to be able to support the use of the Flash Drives, so I am going to make full use of this during my last six months of university.

Hopefully on Wednesday I will find out which Tutorial group I am in for this semester. I would like group 3 or 4, and not for the other people who may be in those groups too, but because the timetable for groups 3 & 4 suits my lazy morning attitude a bit better. The earliest I have to be at Uni is 10am, which suits me just fine!!!

And the placement lists for the '1st Group' have gone up, and fortunately, I am not on that list. The 1st Group has to do their placement on Thursday and Fridays for 10wks, then have 4 wks off, and the 2nd Group has Thursday and Friday's off, then does theirs in the 4wk block. Now, anyone with half a brain can work out that having Thursday and Friday's off is going to make it easier to get assignments and other Uni work done, where-as by the time the 1st Group get 4wks off, all of the Uni work will have been completed.

10wks of University Lectures, Tutorials, Practicals and Assignments, then 6 wks of clinical placement, followed by 1 wk study vacation and 2 exams. That is my last semester of University (if I do the right thing and STUDY).

Tennis Time!!

I just love my Tennis. I used to play up to 3 times per week before we had our first child, then managed once per week as a regular fill-in during my 1st year at University and am about to join a team for ladies night tennis once per week.

I am unfit, haven't played for over 2 years and I am as not as young as I used to be. What I meant by that last comment, is that no longer can I just run out onto the court and start playing without a warm-up, which is how most social tennis players play. I need a warm-up, or I end up with something going snap in the muscle department.

So I thought to myself, why not ride to Tennis? I used to do it when we lived in Wodonga, Victoria. But it might be a good way to warm up the muscles on the way......then my husband said, "But what about at the end of the night - you still have to ride back home again" and he is right. But, like all stubborn people, I will have a go and probably prove him right - hahaha.

Now you may think to yourself, that the ride home will be good for loosening up the muscles after playing, and that is right - in theory anyway. But at 9-10pm (and sometimes later depending on how the games go) I may just want to hop into a car and drive (the 5mins :O) home.

Next Tuesday starts the practice sessions and four weeks after starts the competition.

Hopefully I will be injury free :P
